Hiya! I noticed a lot of new image uploads of items that have been deleted. I wanted to ask, is there was a specific page I could view all of these items? I always loved researching unreleased/removed features in Webkinz. Thanks! --Rosalaun (talk) 02:29, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
Hello! First of all, I'd like to apologize for not messaging you before I created an account; I didn't notice that I was supposed to message you until after I created it lol. Anyway, I found a lot of gaps in the Visual Master List that I was able to find images for. A lot of these images seem to be duplicates of items that already are numbered, but some appear to be unreleased items that I haven't seen before. I have a list of all of the numbers I found that have pictures that are not already on the wiki, though I do not know how to find the names of any of these items. I would love to help out with this wiki in any way I can. :) --TheSnuggleKinz (talk) 17:07, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
Hey Michele, not sure if I'm doing this right but I saw your post on gymbos and I would love to help in any way possible. I've been in and out of WW for the last 13 years but do have a lot of knowledge in all things WW- I would love to help form this into a full wiki (beyond just pictures), but can also help with other organizational things- I know PSIs and eStore are a little messy and could use some work. Wherever you want help, just let me know. --Boper911 (talk) 18:08, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
I know about them adding stuff way back in the programming...I learned that over and over and OVER when I spent four hours a day, every day, for three months straight, creating the Visual Master List! : ) (The Poinsettia Curtains that were added in 2015 are like number 528!) You saved me a massive trip through the database reading the code line by line, lol! And thanks for clarifying the name of the Collections Gallery...it was called the Gallery in some places and the Page Index in other places and that was confusing. Loopy (talk) 19:11, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
Hiya! OMG where did you find the images for the Barbershop Sign and the Rescue Team Desk?! Those have been driving me crazy for months! Do you know what item numbers they are? I'm presuming they're out of order, because they weren't with the numbers for those maintenance updates. Thanks! : ) Loopy (talk) 18:34, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
Hiya! I got all the images that didn't have names since April uploaded. THANK GOODNESS we can have item names again, that was driving me crazy! Question: would you be upset if I removed all the "Under Construction" images from the Visual Master List that you added before? They make the page look too cluttered, I think. Oh, and so you know, Ganz has only been using odd numbers for images for about a year and a half now. That's why there are so many blank spaces in the Visual Master List. : ) I think they were reserving even numbers for images for the Webkinz Desktop App, prior to them making it flash-based. If the app was based on a different platform, they might have used the even numbers for that. On a completely different issue, if you have any problems with the work I've done over the past 2+ years, please speak up! I've essentially been working without direction all that time and just doing things that I felt needed to be done. And on a completely different, different issue, if there's things that you want and weren't able to get using only the Mobile App, speak up, because I've been getting extras of many items for you just in case. ; ) Loopy (talk) 20:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
Oh, almost forgot...if you can't find a way to get pet avatar images, we can always just use the image from the estore once the pet is released. They've been including an image of the pet in ".png" form under the ".gif" image for a few months, and since all pets will be virtual-only going forward, we won't miss any images that way. Loopy (talk) 04:05, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
Oh YAY! This has made my day! It's been impossible updating without item names. I've got images from APRIL that I still haven't uploaded because I don't know the names, lol! You've been back to the wiki like ten minutes and you've already been way beyond useful! :D I guess you can send the info to my WI account, this way it's not out in the open. For the item images, we're just using the same link we always have, but changing the file format to ".png" from ".swf" That one I was able to figure out on my own, lol. Loopy (talk) 03:59, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
OMG! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations! I will no longer be the lone person on this wiki, lol! :D I don't know if you saw my last message back in April, but the site from which we get the names is DEAD. I've been winging it for the last three updates and only uploading images once I know what the name is, which makes updating the wiki a big ole pain. I've managed to get some names pre-release from the estore, using logic and the process of elimination and knowledge of how images are named on the estore, but for everything else, I'm flying blind. What should we do going forward? I've actually been tempted to write to Ganz to ask for help, but I don't want to get put on the naughty list. :P Loopy (talk) 05:14, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Hiya! Don't know if you have a computer yet, so hopefully you get this message! I'm doing the maintenance updates today, and the site from which we get the item names is coming up as a 404 error. I cannot get the names for the images, thus I cannot upload them. Nor can I add the data to your spoiler page or the Visual Master List. Any idea what is going on? Do you think that perhaps they're preparing to upload the item names in some other format since flash will be discontinued by the end of the year? Also, should I upload the images by number instead of name, and then rename them once we know the official names? Thanks! Loopy (talk) 19:31, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Hiya! No, unfortunately, I have heard nothing from Shoutwiki either. : ( They did take the step of universally blacklisting the adult website spammers who have been giving us the most trouble, but the spammers are starting to find ways around that, unfortunately. The communication between Shoutwiki staff and people like us leaves much to be desired! On another note, how's the job going, and how is life in general? Did you manage to save up enough for a laptop? I miss the presence of other (non-spamming) people on this wiki, lol! Loopy (talk) 15:51, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I recently tried to join this wiki but was told I had to ask permission before editing. I have tried to contact you through other sites but didn't have any luck. Hope it's okay I contact you here, thanks! --Rosalaun (talk) 01:59, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
Awesome! Fingers crossed that this happens soon. I'm sooooo tired of deleting real estate, astrology, and adult spam! The last category is really offensive and I hope no children have ever seen that garbage on here. Loopy (talk) 21:48, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
Ohhhhhh. I was like, what did I do wrong that I got downgraded? LOL! Chalk it up to denseness, or the fact that I've been doing wiki stuff since 10:30 this morning and I'm about cross-eyed by now! Loopy (talk) 23:39, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
I actually don't have an e-mail associated with this wiki, lol. Crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that you get a computer for Christmas, and congrats on the full-time job! If you're still interested in WW, I have extras of like everything that's been released in the past year, and I can hook you up with whatever you missed by only being able to play the app. Just give me a list and I'll start mailing stuff out! And I just got a weird notification, maybe you can tell me what it means: it says my user rights are changed to "bureaucrat"??!! Did the system downgrade me or something? Loopy (talk) 23:16, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
OMG are you back?! YAY! I hope you have computer access again! So you know, I had put in an adoption request for the wiki because we hadn't heard from you in over a year. I did this because I was hoping to make the wiki editable by invited guests only (which means we make the wiki viewable by anyone, but editable only by us, which is called "semi-private" here). But if you're back, you can take care of that, and I can go delete the adoption request. The spam has been both crazy and REALLY offensive in the past year, and it's getting very difficult to manage, but DisneyPrincess and I have our hands tied because we don't "own" the wiki. So I hope I hope I hope you're back! Oh, and I have done QUITE a bit of editing over the past year, including what I call the "Visual Master List", which can be accessed here: http://webkinzpictureguide.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Visual_Master_List I made the Visual Master List because editing Hoodedwarbler's master list was proving to be impossible. So this way, we have an up-to-date master list, and every possible picture is uploaded. If you have any suggestions for improvement or criticism of what I've done in the past year, please speak up! :) Loopy (talk) 20:35, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Absolutely no trouble at all! I'm having a positive blast helping out. :) Question for you: A good friend of mine named Boper911 joined the blog on June 1. I immediately asked him to contact you before he did one single thing on the blog, but I did warn him that your internet access is extremely limited so it would be a while before you could get in touch with him. I don't know if he has made an effort to contact you, but I can vouch for him, if that helps. Regarding my work here, do you approve of the changes I have made to the Room Themes Template and the Room Themes pages, and do you like the way I am setting up the individual theme pages? I've got it down to a science now, but it would be no trouble to change the way I am doing things if you have suggestions or don't like how I've done things. I am contemplating adding micro themes to the Room Themes Template page. (if you're wondering how I define micro-themes, see this page: http://webkinzpictureguide.shoutwiki.com/wiki/%28Picture_Guide%29_Ganz_eStore_Room_Themes ) Do you think it a good idea for me to make theme pages for micro themes? I have already done all the background work for them, and it would take less then ten minutes per page to set it up. Please let me know, and it's great to hear from you! Loopy (talk) 19:41, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for that tip! I'm still trying to get used to typing the image name all mashed together, but thankfully I caught those mistakes. And sorry for putting the estore room themes under the estore page...I was starting to add the themes to the page, and then I came across your template for a room theme, and I wasn't sure which way you wanted the page to be, so I put in the template version. So I should just be adding the theme furniture to the estore theme page and not the template version of the theme, right? But if I do that, won't there be too many images on the page for the WPG template to handle? Loopy (talk)
That's way easier than I thought! I can definitely do that if you want. Is there a maximum number I can add? Or does it just become as big as we want it to? Also, once the template is updated, will the eStore and PSI pages automatically show the rest of the code? Or do I have to do something once I add onto the template? (Thanks for this mini lesson!) DisneyPrincess (talk) 02:20, 27 March 2017 (UTC) Yes, that completely makes sense! So as of right now, do you know how to expand it past the 600 limit? I had no idea this was even a thing so I'm glad I asked before you left! DisneyPrincess (talk) 00:33, 27 March 2017 (UTC) On your to do list, I saw update WPG template. How do we do that? Or is that something only you are able to do?? DisneyPrincess (talk) 21:13, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
I know you're going to be leaving again so I had a quick question. What is the best way to contact you if we have a question about the Picture Guide?? I'm not sure what you check the most. Thanks! DisneyPrincess (talk) 23:25, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
Oh my goodness, I assumed the images on WI were all the proper standard. I had no idea I was uploading improper images! In the future, I will just make my own images, using the same process I've been using on my own for years. I definitely didn't mean to make more work for you. : ( So very sorry about that! Loopy (talk) 02:22, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
Whew! Glad you liked it. : ) As far as differentiating the estore prizes in there, maybe an asterisk behind the name of the soda/fudge, cookie, and white egg prizes, with a note that it was only available that way? Or perhaps a foot note? Or can you change the font colors to indicate that they are estore prizes? Or just put those prizes in their own section right after the other prizes for that year? (That last idea might make the page a bit too cluttered, I think!) Loopy (talk) 19:01, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
I've finished the annual Click-to-Win page. Please let me know what you think, and don't be sparing on the criticism. I need criticism to learn! : ) I grouped everything by "Introduced in..." for continuity purposes. I included the fall fest soda prizes from 2016 and the winterfest cookie prizes from 2017 because the previous page editors included the white egg prizes from 2016, even though they weren't strictly click-to-win. Which brings me to a question: did you want me to include the grand prizes for fall fest soda/fudge and winterfest cookies in every year they were available, though they were not click-to-win? Please let me know, thanks! I'm going to go add tradeable promo to the Promo page for now. Loopy (talk) 15:51, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
I have uploaded everything I can at this point, so I added the estore packs that were missing to the Promo page. I put Nautical Navy, Sassy Seafaring, and Cheerful Clinic in that section, because I wasn't sure if you wanted them in that section or in their own section. If you want to change it, please do. : ) For now, I'm going to stick to established pages, because I can copy and paste the code without messing up an entire page, ha ha. Unless, of course, you don't want me to mess with established pages...just say the word! Loopy (talk) 21:10, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
No trouble at all! I've been dying to help out here for months and months. : ) I am just about to finish uploading the images from gottaluvjoe, so I'm not sure what you would like me to do after that. Also, I get an error message when I try to upload any image that has the words "pack" or "fence" in it. Any idea why that happens? Loopy (talk) 19:05, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Hahah I can see why you've procrastinated.. the eStore pages are very overwhelming. I'd like to get the categories and format for each page put together while you're here so that I can fill in from there. For the food machine page, do you want it similar to the virtual figures page where the corresponding item is next to the figure? Or do you not want the food pictured there? I'm not as good with choosing the WPG formats for each page. If you can show me an example on one of the eStore category pages, I can set up the rest from there and you can check afterwards? DisneyPrincess (talk) 18:54, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Hello! I uploaded scads of photos and updated the Stocking and Crackers and Spring Mystery pages. If I have done anything incorrectly, please let me know. I do not have a lot of experience in wiki editing. : ) As soon as you post the names for the March 8 update, I will get those photos uploaded. Loopy (talk) 01:17, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Hi Michele! I hope all is well with you! I was going to let you know that I can work on uploading images and names for the new items if you wanted :) I heard you've been busy so I'd be happy to help out with this! I just don't know how to get the new image names. DisneyPrincess (talk) 18:23, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
Hi! :) I'm going to be driving home tomorrow for about 13 hours. While I will not have internet, I would still like to work on this somehow since I will be extremely bored haha. I was just wondering if you had any ideas for what I could work on? I thought about typing up the wallpaper and flooring collections in the best format, but I wasn't sure if you had any additional ideas? Thanks! DisneyPrincess (talk) 04:21, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Michele! I noticed that the Super Surprise Boxes that were made available are not in the Picture Guide. I'm not quite sure which category you think would be best to put them. Let me know! :) DisneyPrincess (talk) 02:34, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
Of course!! I love working on it! :) I've been meaning to ask you if you can upload the 2006 easter gift bag because I can't find it anywhere. The one on WI is super blurry so I didn't want to use it. I'm not sure if you have it or not? DisneyPrincess (talk) 04:56, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
Okay thanks! I'm not entirely sure if this is how I respond to you, but I'm hoping it is. As far as images go, I will start uploading them from wnewz, right? DisneyPrincess (talk) 22:35, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi Choircutie, thank you for choosing ShoutWiki to make your wiki.
We would suggest that you start your wiki off by doing these few basic things:
- Upload a logo. You can do this by uploading an image over File:Wiki.png. (not available on some skins)
- Design your Main Page. The main page is likely the first thing users will see. It should be attractive and catch the eye.
- Start building content. All wikis need content to become the best they can be.
If you need help with making a logo, skin or favicon, please see ShoutWiki's Logo Creation Wiki.
Thank you again for using ShoutWiki.
